Video Issues
Symptoms: Simple solutions on how to troubleshoot your computer if it turns on (power button lights up, fans and drives make noise, you hear the start-up chime, etc.) but:
- the screen shows no video signal: black screen, image corruption, snow, or flickering
- brightness or color isn't uniform
- pixel anomalies
1. Check Cable Connections
When using an external monitor or display be sure to check the following:
1. Confirm that the power adapter is securely plugged into a wall outlet, and from there to the power port located on the back or side of your computer.
2. Confirm display cables (VGA, DVI, HDMI, etc.) are correctly connected into their respective connections
3. Remove and re-attach all display cables. If more than one display cable is in use, troubleshoot by using only one display cable.

2. Brightness and Color Uniformity
1. Confirm that the brightness setting is at a visible level
2. If color uniformity/ screen resolution doesn't seem to be right, access System Preferences (under the Apple Menu) and choose Displays from the Hardware Section.
