Todd County Alternative High School
_
The TCHS Alternative Program has been in existence since August of 2003. It is designed to help meet the needs of older students who are lacking credits for graduation due to a variety of circumstances. Students are taught through online courses.
The Alternative Center is located south of the school lunch hall (directly east of the Falcon’s Nest Daycare Center). Students may ride the TC bus system or arrange their own transportation.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Interested students may pick up an application in the high school guidance office. Completed applications should be returned to the guidance secretary. Interviews are conducted at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. Priority is given to older students who could graduate within a two year time frame. Since more students apply than can be accepted at one time (45), students are placed on a waiting list for admission. Normally, students are accepted at the beginning of each semester, but exceptions can occur.
PROGRAM ADVANTAGES
FOCUS
Attendance: Students must maintain good attendance as this is the key to being successful in earning a diploma.
Progress: Students will continue to make steady progress toward graduation.
Behavior: Students are expected to follow the student handbook policies regarding behavior and dress code
